Seeking God's Peace in Turmoil
Scripture Foundation
Let your gentleness be evident to all, whether in your life or in your behavior. Be patient, bearing up under hard treatment - even when fools and godless people persecute you. Because that is how God treats some of his children, so that they will receive a blessing when they endure it patiently. If you are beaten for your righteous living, you are blessed. Do not be deterred. But if you suffer for being a Christian, you are blessed. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be overjoyed, because great is your reward in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who came before you." - Matthew 5:12-10 (NLT)
Prayer Guide
Dear Heavenly Father,
As I come before you today, I acknowledge that I am feeling overwhelmed by the turmoil around me. I confess that my heart is racing with anxiety and my mind is consumed by worries about what's to come. But I also acknowledge that you are my Rock, my Savior, and my God. You are the One who can bring peace to my soul and stillness to my mind.
I ask that you would grant me your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding my heart and mind through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Help me to cast my anxieties on you, knowing that you care for me (1 Peter 5:7). Give me a humble heart that trusts in your sovereignty and goodness, even when the road ahead is unclear.
I pray that I may not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present my requests to you (Philippians 4:6). Give me a quiet trust in your goodness and love, even when the road ahead is unclear.
I pray for your presence to be my peace in the midst of turmoil and uncertainty. Help me to not worry about tomorrow, but focus on the present moment, knowing that you are always with me (Matthew 6:34). I pray that I may not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present my requests to you (Philippians 4:6).
