Practicing Holy Rest

In a world that values productivity and busyness, it's easy to forget the importance of rest. But what does the Bible say about rest? In Hebrews 4:9-11, we're reminded that God's rest is not just a physical necessity, but a spiritual one as well.

Scripture Foundation

Hebrews 4:9-11

So then, a sabbath-rest for the people of God: For the one who has entered His rest has also ceased from his own works, just as God did from His. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.

Main Content

Jesus invites us to come to Him and find rest for our souls in Matthew 11:28. But what does it mean to come to Him and find rest? It means recognizing that we are not self-sufficient, but rather dependent on God's presence and provision. It means trusting that He is our Rock, our Refuge, and our Savior.

In Exodus 33:14, we see that God promises to dwell among His people and be their God. This is the ultimate expression of holy rest – being in God's presence and experiencing His peace. But how do we get there? By recognizing our need for Him and seeking Him above all else.
