Sowing Seeds of Silence

As small group leaders, we often find ourselves juggling multiple responsibilities, from leading meetings to counseling members. It's easy to get overwhelmed and feel like we're not doing enough. But today, I want to encourage you to take a step back and sow seeds of silence.

Scripture Focus

But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you." - Matthew 6:6

Main Message

In today's fast-paced world, it's easy to get caught up in the noise and distractions around us. But Jesus teaches us that true prayer happens in secret, away from the prying eyes and ears of others. When we take time to shut the door and pray, we create a sacred space for God to speak to us and guide us. As small group leaders, we often feel the weight of responsibility on our shoulders. We worry about leading our groups effectively, about being a good example, about meeting expectations. But today, I want to encourage you to lay those worries down and focus on sowing seeds of silence. Take time to pray, to seek God's guidance and wisdom, and to listen for His gentle whispers. As Psalm 62:1-2 says, "Truly my soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock, my salvation, my fortress; I will never be shaken." And as 1 Corinthians 3:7 reminds us, "So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow." So take a deep breath, shut the door, and let God speak to you. Let Him guide you, comfort you, and give you the strength you need to lead your group with confidence and joy.
