Opening Reflection
As missionaries, we often find ourselves caught in the midst of a world that seems to be constantly moving at a breakneck pace. It's easy to get swept up in the whirlwind of activity and forget to prioritize rest and reflection.
Scripture Focus
"Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your alien who sojourns with you. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and on the seventh day He rested. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and sanctified it." (Exodus 20:8-11)
Main Message
In a world that values productivity and busyness above all else, it's easy to feel guilty for taking time off or prioritizing rest. But the Bible says otherwise. In Exodus 20:8-11, God commands us to remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy. This isn't just a suggestion; it's a command from the Creator of the universe who knows our limitations and needs better than we do.
