Praying for Courageous Faith
Scripture Foundation
Hebrews 11:6 says, "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." Matthew 14:27 reminds us, "Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he sent the crowds away. And after sending them away, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray." Mark 4:35 says, "He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, 'Quiet! Be still.'" Ephesians 3:12 assures us that "because of Christ and our faith in him, we have access to this grace in which we will stand, and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God."
Prayer Guide
As you pray through this guide, take a moment to quiet your heart and mind before God. Ask the Holy Spirit to speak to you and guide you as you pray. May your heart be steadfast in faith, even when the winds of doubt and fear assail you.
Prayer Points
- May I trust that God is able to keep me from falling and to present me faultless before His glory with exceeding joy (Jude 24).
- For the faith to step out in obedience, even when the road ahead is uncertain (Matthew 14:27).
- That I may not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, present my requests to God with thanksgiving (Philippians 4:6).
- May the God of all comfort give me strength to persevere in the midst of trials and testing (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).
- For the courage to speak truth and stand firm in the face of opposition (Ephesians 6:10).
- That I may have confidence in the midst of chaos, knowing that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that I ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
Declarations of Faith
- I declare that I trust in God's goodness and provision.
- I declare that I have access to God's grace through faith in Christ.
- I declare that I will not be anxious, but will present my requests to God with thanksgiving.
