Prayers for Courage in Darkness
Scripture Foundation
In Psalm 27:1, we read, "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" (ESV). This psalm speaks of a deep trust in God's presence and protection. In Isaiah 41:10, we are reminded that God is our Redeemer, saying, "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my victorious right hand." (ESV). The book of Hebrews reminds us that "God is able to bless you abundantly, so that you may come to inherit a blessing that is impossible to utter" (Hebrews 13:5, HCSB). And in 2 Corinthians 4:7, we are told that "our light and momentary trouble is producing for us an eternal glory that is far beyond comparison" (ESV).
