Savoring the Silence

In the midst of a chaotic world, it's easy to get caught up in the noise. But what if we could learn to savor the silence? To quiet our souls and focus on God?

Scripture Foundation

Psalm 131:2 says, "My soul finds rest in God alone." Psalm 62:1 declares, "My soul waits in silence for God alone." Matthew 6:6 instructs us to "go into your inner room, shut your door, and pray to your Father." And in 1 Corinthians 2:2, Paul writes, "I decided that while I was with you, I would be of no concern to anyone, for I do not even know how to make use of my own life. By the strictness of the Jews I have put myself under great hardship so that I might join my fellow Jews in their shame and so that they may see their shame among Gentiles. So they may stop glorying in their shame. For I want to be all the more eager for you in every way: to possess a conscience that is unaccused and above reproach, but this one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining towards what lies ahead. I press on towards the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."
