Rooted in the Gospel
As single parents, you often wear multiple hats and face unique challenges. In the midst of chaos, it's easy to lose sight of the foundation of our faith. In this exercise, we'll explore what it means to be "rooted in the gospel" and how this foundation can transform our identity and relationships.
Scripture Foundation
Paul wrote to the Colossians, "For even from birth, you were joined together with Him through the blood of Christ; and this not only gives you hope for the future but now brings joy to God." (Colossians 1:5-8) In John 1:12, we read, "Yet to all who believed Him, He gave the right to become children of God." Matthew 16:18 reminds us, "And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church." Galatians 2:20 declares, "I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me." These passages remind us that our identity is rooted in Christ and that our relationship with Him is the foundation of our faith. As single parents, it's easy to feel like we're struggling to keep our heads above water. But when we're rooted in the gospel, we find our strength and hope in Christ.Main Content
When we're rooted in the gospel, we recognize that our identity is not defined by our roles or circumstances but by our relationship with Christ. This freedom allows us to live a life of authenticity and humility. We're no longer defined by our performance or achievements but by our union with Christ. As single parents, we often feel like we're shouldering the weight of responsibility alone. But when we're rooted in the gospel, we realize that we're not alone. We're part of a larger community of believers who are also struggling and finding strength in Christ. So, what does it mean to be "rooted in the gospel"? It means recognizing that our identity is found in Christ, not in our roles or circumstances. It means finding our strength and hope in Him, even when everything around us seems uncertain. It means living a life of authenticity and humility, knowing that our worth and value come from being children of God.Learning Objectives
