Rooted in His Presence

As missionaries, we often find ourselves in unfamiliar cultures and environments. Yet, in the midst of uncertainty, we can rest assured that God's presence remains constant. In this exercise, we'll explore how to cultivate a deeper sense of connection with God's presence, even in the most challenging contexts.

Scripture Foundation

Psalm 139:5 says, "You formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb." This verse reminds us that God is intimately involved in our creation and formation. He knows us better than we know ourselves, and His presence is woven into the fabric of our very being.

Colossians 1:13-14 states, "He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins." This passage highlights Jesus' role as the head of the church and our connection to Him.

Ephesians 3:17-18 says, "So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God." This passage emphasizes God's love for and investment in believers.

John 15:4-5 says, "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me." These verses teach us about the importance of abiding in Christ and allowing Him to prune us for greater fruitfulness.
