Rooted in His Presence

"Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?" - Psalm 139:5-12

Scripture Foundation

Psalm 139:5-12, Colossians 1:13-14, Ephesians 3:17, Matthew 28:20

Main Content

God's presence is not just a feeling or a fleeting experience; it's a reality that is woven into the fabric of our existence. As David exclaimed in Psalm 139:5-12, "You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?" (NIV). In Colossians 1:13-14, we're reminded that we're seated with Christ, not just in a spiritual sense, but in a very real and tangible way. We're no longer separated from God by sin, but through Jesus, we have access to the Father. This reality changes everything. In Ephesians 3:17, Paul prays that we might be strengthened with power through the Spirit in our inner being. He's not just asking for a temporary boost; he's asking for a deep and abiding connection with God. And in Matthew 28:20, Jesus commands us to go and make disciples of all nations. Not just to go and tell people about Him, but to make disciples. This is a call to relationship-building, to deepening our connection with others and with God. So how can we apply these truths to our lives? How can we cultivate a deeper sense of intimacy with God? Take a few minutes to journal your thoughts and reflections on these questions: * What does it mean to you to be seated with Christ? * How has God's presence been evident in your life lately? * What are some specific ways you've experienced God's power and strength in your life? * Who are some people in your life that you'd like to build a deeper connection with? How can you take steps towards that?
