Practicing the Presence

As we navigate the ups and downs of life, it's easy to feel like we're going through it alone. But Jesus reminds us that He is always present, even in the midst of chaos. In this exercise, we'll explore what it means to practice the presence of God and how it can transform our daily lives.

Scripture Foundation

"For where two or three gather in my name, I am there with them." - Matthew 18:20 "Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For in reality it is because of these that your alienated from God. Your minds are full of the flesh and sensuality, leading to God's jealousy." - Colossians 3:2-3 "So let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." - Hebrews 13:5-6

Main Content

Practicing the presence of God is about intentionally seeking Him in every moment, regardless of our circumstances. It's about recognizing that He is always with us, guiding us and directing us. As we focus on His presence, we'll find peace, comfort, and strength in the midst of life's challenges. To start, take a few moments to quiet your mind and focus on your breath. Imagine yourself standing in a peaceful place, surrounded by God's presence. Feel His love and care for you. As you continue to breathe deeply, ask yourself: What are some areas in my life where I feel like I'm going through it alone? Where do I need God's presence most? Take a few minutes to journal your thoughts and reflections. What does it mean to you to practice the presence of God in those areas? Remember, practicing the presence of God is not about achieving a certain feeling or state; it's about intentionally seeking Him and acknowledging His presence in every moment.
