Practicing the Presence of God
In this faith formation resource, we'll explore the beautiful reality of God's presence in our daily lives. We'll delve into the significance of Matthew 18:20, Psalm 139:7-12, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, and Colossians 3:3 to discover practical ways to cultivate intimacy with God.
Scripture Foundation
Matthew 18:20 says, "For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them." (ESV) This verse reminds us that God's presence is not limited to a specific location or occasion, but rather He is always with us, no matter where we are or what we're doing. Psalm 139:7-12 speaks of God's omnipresence, declaring, "Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there. If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, you are there." (ESV) These verses remind us that God is always near, always present, and always aware of our every move. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 reminds us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we are to glorify God in our bodies. This verse encourages us to recognize the sacredness of our bodies and the presence of the Holy Spirit within us. Colossians 3:3 says, "For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God." (ESV) This verse speaks of our union with Christ and the reality that our true life is found in Him. As we put on Christ, we are clothed in His presence and identity.Main Content
