Practicing the Presence of God
Scripture Foundation
Matthew 18:20 says, "For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them." (ESV) This verse reminds us that God's presence is not limited by physical distance or circumstances. He is always with us.
Psalm 139:7-12 describes God's intimate knowledge and presence: "Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there. If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there." (NIV)
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 reminds us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit: "Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I take the members of Christ and unite them to a prostitute? God forbid!" (ESV)
Colossians 3:2-3 encourages us to set our minds on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God: "Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God." (NIV)
