Practicing the Presence of God
Scripture Foundation
In Matthew 18:20, Jesus says, "For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them." This verse reminds us that God is present in our relationships, our communities, and our daily lives. He is not distant or disconnected, but actively involved and present.
In Matthew 6:6, Jesus teaches us to pray, "But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen." This verse encourages us to prioritize prayer as a means of communing with God and experiencing His presence.
Colossians 3:2-3 says, "Set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." This passage reminds us to prioritize seeking God's will and to set our hearts on things above, where He is present and active.
Psalm 139:5 declares, "You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me." This verse reminds us of God's omnipresence and His intimate involvement in our lives.
