Embracing the Messy Middle

As we begin this new day, let's acknowledge that life can be messy. But in the midst of chaos, God is present, working to refine us and shape us into the people He desires us to be.

Scripture Focus

'Brothers and sisters, think of it this way: Since God chose you hearty, holy, and loved, don't you put in even the least bit of effort to become what God is making of you.' - 1 Corinthians 3:1-3 (MSG)

Main Message

As new believers, we often struggle with the idea that we're not good enough, that we're not worthy of God's love and acceptance. But Paul reminds us that God has already chosen us, chosen us to be His own. He doesn't want us to try to earn or work for His love; He wants us to simply receive it. This is the beauty of the gospel: we are already loved, already accepted, already chosen.

Reflection Questions

  • What areas of your life do you feel like you need to "earn" God's love or acceptance?
  • How does the truth that God has already chosen you impact your daily life?
  • What steps can you take today to intentionally receive and rest in God's love and acceptance?

Prayer Focus

  • Pray for eyes to see that you are already loved and accepted by God, and that you don't need to earn or work for His love.
  • Ask God to help you receive His love and acceptance as a free gift, rather than trying to earn it.

Application Steps

  • Take time today to reflect on the ways God has already shown His love and acceptance in your life.
  • Write down specific ways you can intentionally receive and rest in God's love and acceptance today.
  • Practice gratitude for God's love and acceptance by sharing it with a friend or family member.
