Blessed in the Breakdown

As missionaries, we often face challenges that can leave us feeling broken and worn out. But in those moments, we can find comfort in the knowledge that we are not alone, and that our God is near.

Scripture Focus

"We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed." - 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 (NIV)

Main Message

In the midst of our struggles, it's easy to feel like we're at our breaking point. But as we look to God's Word, we're reminded that He is always with us, even in the darkest of times. Just as the psalmist wrote, "The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles." (Psalm 34:17)

Reflection Questions

  • How have you felt like you've been broken or worn out recently? Where do you sense God's presence in that place?
  • What are some specific ways that God has delivered you from your troubles in the past? How can you recall those moments and apply them to your current situation?
  • In what ways do you need to surrender your struggles to God and trust that He will carry you through?

Prayer Focus

  • Pray for the strength to surrender your struggles to God and trust that He will carry you through.
  • Ask God to deliver you from your troubles and remind you of His presence in your life.
  • Pray for the courage to share your struggles with others and seek support from your community.

Application Steps

  • Take a few minutes each day to reflect on your struggles and how God has delivered you from them in the past.
  • Share your struggles with a trusted friend or mentor and ask for their support and prayer.
  • Make a conscious effort to surrender your struggles to God each day, trusting that He will carry you through.
